Favorite Bible Verse:

Jeremiah 29:11  "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I was born in Huntsville, AL where I  lived until I was 15. I then moved to Milton, FL where I lived until we moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 2015. Throughout high school, I ran my own cake decorating business and started to dream of having a show on the Food Network. Now, i just bake for fun. I graduated high school in 2001 and began my college career at Pensacola Junior College where I majored in Elementary Education. Unfortunately, life happened and I did not finish my course of study. I met my husband in 2004 and we were married the next year.

We have two boys Chris, who is an Immanuel alumni, and Levi who is a current Immanuel student. In my spare time, I love to play games with my family, watch documentaries, and travel to new places in and around Wisconsin. I am currently attending Concordia University Wisconsin through their online program and plan to graduate in December of 2024 with a Lutheran Educator Degree. I hope to one day become a teacher at Immanuel where I can make a difference in the lives of students just like many of the teachers have made a difference in the lives of my children. Immanuel has been a blessing to our family and I pray it will be to yours as well.

The school's theme this year is "Connected" (John 15:5).  Share a time in your life when you saw the importance of being connected to Jesus.

There was a period of my life where I stopped going to church, praying, or even trying to live like a Christian. Life was tough. I knew what I was doing was wrong, so I disconnected myself from anyone who reminded me of how I should be living. I felt like I had no one to turn to. I had no connections. Fast forward to when we found Immanuel. I felt like this was the place we needed to be. I started going to church regularly, spending time praying, and then found Bible studies to join through E4. Through the school and church my family and I have made connections that have helped us tremendously in our walk with Christ. I feel more connected with my faith and have made several true friends.

What skill would you most like to learn?

I have always wanted to learn how to ice skate, but never had the nerve to try. Now that we live in Wisconsin, it would be a fun skill to have.
