What is MOPs?

MOPs (Mothers of Preschoolers) is for any woman who has a child from birth through kindergarten.

At MOPs, little ones are typically dropped off at age appropriate rooms with loving caregivers as part of the MOPs Kids program. Children 0-2 enjoy playing and loosely structured time with caregivers, while children ages 3 and up enjoy more structured story time, crafts, and other age-appropriate activities.  Moms are then free to enjoy breakfast, coffee, teaching and discussion, guest speakers, and creative activities.

This year will look a bit different as we take health and safety precautions amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Our current plan is to meet in a larger space (or outdoors as weather permits) WITH our children, as well as planning some evening meetings/activities for just us moms.

MOPs typically meets at Immanuel Lutheran School  2nd and 4th Thursdays,

Sept.-May, 9am-11am.  Please see below for a more detailed schedule.

Your first meeting is free! After that, please register. Registration for Immanuel meetings alone is $15 for the year.  You can also  register with  MOPs International (use group code A462) for $31.95  which includes many exciting perks!

What is MOMSnext?

MOMSnext is a community of moms with kids ages 0-18. Mothers of older children are invited to attend our meetings and evening activities for the 2020-2021 school year. Moms of school-aged children are busy, and they're always in transition. We will build relationships together and explore the questions
"What's your next? And how does God play a part in it?"

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I come to both MOPs and MOMSnext?

A: YES! This year, the two programs are combined.

With so many changes this year, we are simplifying and combining both programs, so you are welcome to join ALL of our meetings, even if your children are older! We will have a combination of morning and evening meetings.

Q: Is there childcare for school-aged children at MOPs on Thursday mornings?

A: Normally, we have childcare designed for children ages 6 and under.  This year, children are invited to attend with moms.

Please plan to bring toys, snacks, diapers, etc for your children.  We will have limited entertainment options for children  in an effort to cut down on cross-contamination and the need for disinfection.

Q: Is there childcare at  evening meetings?

A: No, there is not.

If you are struggling to find a sitter, or cannot pay for childcare, please contact Tara at tdarling@immanuelrapids.com to connect with volunteers who might be willing to help.

Q: What is the schedule for the 2020-2021 Year?

A: Below is the MOPs official schedule  for the 2020-2021 year.

MOPs will have a slow and cautious start this year beginning with monthly meetings.  Beginning in January we will meet 2nd and 4th Thursday mornings, 9am-11am, unless otherwise stated.
