Construction Update
Work on our office area is continuing at a great pace. The insulation was completed over a week ago. The drywall installation is almost done, too. We have had about 20 volunteers help with this project at one point or another, with many of them putting in over 80 hours. We thank you! The work team will continue on Monday at 9am. They will finish up by installing drywall in the Cedar Room, the secretary area, and office bathroom.
Later this week, our attention will shift to the landscaping and other outdoor work. We are looking for helpers at the following times:
• Wednesday 5/7 from 9am to noon, and from 2pm to 5pm.
• Thursday 5/8 from 9am to noon, and from 2pm to 5pm
• Saturday 5/10 from 8am to noon
We won’t be planting yet on these dates. We will be moving dirt, installing landscape fabric and edging, and completing other important prep work. Bring your own gloves and shovel. A hard rake and wheelbarrow would also be helpful if you have them.
Saturday’s work session will also be a time when we can pick up the garbage that has blown on the site over the course of the winter, so we could use many hands for that work.
Stay informed about work dates for our Landscaping Team by joining the group on Church Center! Or feel free to stop by the Red Wall to get involved.
Pictures in Mission Center
Friendly Reminder: The photo sessions for the pictorial directory are taking place in the Mission Center, not in the main building. Please enter the Mission Center through the front door. A member of the Pictorial Team will greet you in the Mission Center and get you the information you need. There are a limited number of timeslots available for those that still wish to sign up.

Cleaning: How does our large new building stay clean and tidy? We have two dedicated leaders – Wanda Halbur and Cyndi Knorr – who have spent many hours each week leading this ministry. Their excellent work has been supplemented by a number of other volunteers who have picked out a cleaning task or two to do. We thank them for their ministry!
We are in the process of getting some new tools to make cleaning more efficient. We will be buying a cordless vacuum sweeper that has a 25″ path, and a floor scrubber that has a 20″ path.
There are a few ways that you could help, as well. If you are interested, volunteer to help with some of the cleaning tasks by joining the Cleaning Crew through the Church Center App or at the Red Wall.
But the easiest way everyone can help out is by tidying up after themselves. When you are done enjoying your coffee and snacks, please take a moment to tidy up the area where you ate or drank. Unless you are a young child, we also ask that you consider keeping your food and beverages out of the sanctuary to prevent spills. If you do wish to take your drink into the sanctuary, please only take in drinks if they have a lid. Thanks!
A reminder: there will be an Informational Meeting today (Sunday, May 4) regarding a potential new Lutheran high school for our area. That meeting will be held in Immanuel’s Gathering Space at 4pm.
High School
You voted to partner with St. Paul’s Stevens Point and other area churches to determine the feasibility of a potential LCMS high school in our area. Since that time, a group from those area churches have proceeded to investigate, collect data, and plan.
That group has completed their initial investigation, and will be presenting their suggested path to you and to other area churches. They will suggest starting a new area high school – potentially on the campus of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Plover. They will also suggest a fairly aggressive timeframe to begin this school. Come to hear their suggested course of action.

We have had a strong start to our VBS registration for June 9. Haven’t registered yet? Use the Church Center App to sign up!
Family Minister Nic Cass has put out a donation request list for VBS. You can bring the following items to church with you and place them in the tote at the Red Wall:
• Vanilla pudding cups
• Puffcorn
• Capri Suns
• Bugles
• Teddy Grahams
• Pretzel sticks
• Nutella
• Lemonade mix
Nic is also searching for some appropriate “Northwoods” decorations to use throughout the week. The biggest request is for 6-foot artificial trees to create the atmosphere. He is potentially interested in some camping gear, tents, canoes, and kayaks as well. Please contact Nic directly before bringing any of these decorations in.
Congregational Assembly Meeting
Immanuel’s next Congregational Assembly will be held on Sunday, June 8 at 6pm in the Sanctuary. The main topic will be Immanuel’s annual budget. Please plan to attend in person or online.
Please pray
This past week, we began interviews with candidates for our open teaching positions for next year at Immanuel Lutheran School. We have additional interviews scheduled. Please continue to pray for the candidates, the interview team, Principal Betts, Pastor Tim, and the Board of Directors as we consider all candidates for these important roles.
If you have additional qualified candidates to fill these teaching roles, inquires can be forwarded to the school office at 715-423-0272 or at ilsoffice@immanuelrapids.com.

Ascension
This year’s Area LCMS Ascension Worship Service is set for 6pm on Thursday, May 29 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Join your friends from throughout the area as we celebrate Jesus’ ascension into heaven. Worship Him as we look for His return.
Golf Fore Kids ~ The Kersten Classic
Registration is now open for the 19th Annual Golf Fore Kids. This year we have a new, additional name for the event – The Kersten Classic. The name honors DeForest “Bud” Kersten, a l
ongtime principal of Immanuel; and his son David Kersten, a longtime supporter of this event.
This 4-person scramble is scheduled at Bullseye Golf Club on Saturday, June 7. We welcome golfers, sponsors, and volunteers. See the fliers available at the Red Wall.
