Immanuel ~ God With Us!
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Merry Christmas…well almost. Amidst the hustle and bustle of everything we have going on here at Immanuel, we enter into the season of the hustle and bustle. Perhaps you are the type who cannot wait to put up your Christmas decorations as this is your favorite time of year. Perhaps you are the type who waits until the last minute to put up decorations or perhaps the type who no longer decorates. No matter when you put up your decorations, the time will come to put away the decorations just as fast as this season snuck up on us. However, long after the decorations have been put away, and people have stopped greeting people with “Merry Christmas,” we know this will remain. God will still be with us!
Throughout the season of Advent this year, we invite you to gather each weekend for our regular services as we prepare our hearts to celebrate when God literally came to dwell among us. When the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us at the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Then each Wednesday join us for our Advent worship series titled “The Word Made Flesh” as we explore together from God’s Word just what it means to us all that God put on human flesh and lived among us.
This year will be very different as we will be worshiping in our Mission Center as we have been since August. Sunday and Monday worship will be as we have been accustomed to since we transitioned to this new space. Our Wednesday evening worship will still include a soup supper before the worship from 5-5:45pm with worship to follow at 6. That means part of the space will be set up for worship seating and the part of the room for eating and serving food. Good news, this is the only year we will have this set up as shortly into the new year, we will begin worshiping in our new sanctuary.
Immanuel, God has, is, and will always be with us. We praise God for what He is doing here in our midst. The dwelling place of God is with man and we give thanks to Him that He does within and among us. May God bless your Advent and Christmas season!
